Our large student lounges are a meeting place for our students between classes and at lunchtime. Enjoy free tea and coffee in our lounges and e-mail home from our Internet cafés. Other facilities in our lounges include microwave ovens, refrigerators, and vending machines.
Small Classes - Interactive Learning
Our classes are small (maximum 14 students), giving you plenty of opportunity to interact with other students. So that you get the most out of your German learning experience, our teachers encourage you to participate in class, give you homework and give you individual assistance when you need it.
At ALBA Sprachinstitut, we incorporate a variety of modern learning methods into our German courses, and make full use of the multi-media centres, video and audio tapes, and video cameras.
Class times and courses are assigned after the placement test on your first day of school, and are based on your level of German, the availability of classes and the date of registration. We cannot guarantee any specific time or combination of courses in advance.
Most of our students choose our Full-Time Intensive course of 20 hours a week – this is 4 hours a day from Monday to Friday. Classes will be either in the afternoon or in the morning. If you choose our Super-Intensive course (30 hours a week), your classes will start either at 8.30am or at 11am. When you are deciding how many hours to study, remember that you will also be required to do a minimum of 5 hours of independent study a week outside of class hours. We have limited space available for students on the Super-Intensive program – so if you prefer this option, book early!
Classes are 2 hours long from Monday to Friday and are in four blocks:
A 8:30am - 10:30am
B 11:00am - 1:00pm
C 1:30pm - 3:30pm
D 4:00pm - 6:00pm
